Running technique-change sessions: Keith Bateman

Unique technique-change sessions to increase efficiency. Better technique will help you run smoother and with less effort. That means you can run further/faster with the same effort, and it will also decrease the possibility of you getting a running injury. Keith has been improving with age due to technique changes in his own running. He is the oldest person (@ 55) to run 10k in under 32 minutes – one of his five World Records.

Strength and conditioning: Angelo Castiglione- self myofascial release therapy

Self Myofascial Release Therapy (SMRT) – is an interactive soft-tissue-release technique performed on oneself using a foam roller. The aim of it is to firstly inhibit localised tender regions of the body by applying deep yet tolerable prolonged pressure on the muscles. It’s just like receiving a deep massage. This aids in the breakdown of superficial myofascial adhesions, which are a build up of unwanted muscle tissue which can cause pain if they are left to build up for too long. It also increases the fluidity of movement within the soft tissue.

Diabetes, diet and exercise

A healthy diet and being active are very important parts of managing diabetes because it helps manage your blood glucose levels and your body weight.

It is a good idea to consult a health professional for dietary guidance and, from my personal experience in recovering from an illness, I have no hesitation in recommending Dr Rama Prasad. His advice and treatment have been pivotal in my recovery.

Dr Prasad’s practice is at 602/282 Oxford St, Bondi Junction NSW 2022
